Medical Services
These numbers are representative of a typical year of serving the
individuals and families in our area.
2009 Medical Clinic Statistics
-
Over 600 patients seen. An average doctor’s visit cost in Tulsa is
around $125.00. This translates to $75,000 in medical services provided
free to uninsured clients.
-
Assistance provided for over 1,075 prescriptions. Average prescription
prices are around $65. This means uninsured patients in our medical
clinic received almost $70,000 in prescription medications.
-
Immunizations, flu shots, and hearing and vision screenings provided
free of charge.
-
Referrals for appointments with specialists (such as dermatology and
gynecology) available, free of charge, through our partnership with OU’s
Bedlam Clinic program.
Our clinic only sees patients with no health insurance. We give
preference to clients residing in our service area.
Our clinic operates on a number draw system to determine both who is
seen as well as the order in which patients are seen.
NATL holds one regular medical clinic each week.
Our clinic is held on Monday evenings at 5:15 p.m. At this
clinic we can see approximately 16 patients. We do not have
laboratory or x-ray facilities on-site, so illnesses requiring that level
of care can not be accommodated. However, referrals for these
services are possible. Prescriptions are filled free of charge or
for low cost when possible.
Unfortunately due to funding issues, OU has closed the Bedlam clinic
they offered at Neighbors Along The Line on Thursdays, effective
immediately. We are working to find replacement options for this
clinic and will update the website as soon as we have more information.
Due to the OU Bedlam program's funding difficulties, we will no longer be
able to offer free referrals for lab work or specialty care, also
effective immediately. We are also working on solutions to these
issues and are sorry for the difficulties we know this will cause some of
our clients. We understand this is short notice and we will do
everything we can to assist our clients in finding solutions to their
healthcare needs.
Additional medical related opportunities (such as immunizations,
hearing and vision screenings, etc.) are available at
different times throughout the year. These opportunities are posted
on the Events / Activities page.
