Literacy and Development Programs

GED and HiSET Preparation

We are happy that you have decided to pursue your high School Diploma. We are here to help make the process as smooth as possible. With a little work and motivation, you’ll have your diploma in no time. Our program is designed to allow you the flexibility you need to complete your high school diploma.

Preparation Options:

GED Class

Offered by Union Public Schools at our facility, this class is designed to prepare you for your GED in a traditional classroom environment. We offer this class Monday and Wednesday 9:30am-12:00pm. Enrollment is held at the beginning of every class. Expect to take a placement test during your first session.

GED Fast Track Computer Program

Offered at Neighbors Along the Line Monday-Thursday 10am-7pm in our computer lab. This option is self-paced, providing you with the flexibility you need to get your GED on your own schedule. Tutoring can be scheduled upon request.

Flex Plan

Like the best of both worlds? You are able to combine these two programs in any way that you want to attain your GED!

Tutoring

Free tutoring is available to students of all ages and grade levels.  Tutoring is set up on an individual basis, and usually consists of an hour a week of one-on-one tutoring in a particular subject that is presenting a challenge to the student

 

Computer Lab

Neighbors Along the Line has a computer lab available to clients.
Agreeing to a few simple rules can get you free internet access to search for jobs, fill out applications, and check email.   We also offer access to the Microsoft Office Suite to write papers, develop resumes, and much more! Open Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

 

Job Skill Basics

Here at Neighbors Along the Line, we envision helping our community reach self-sufficiency and independence. To help in that regard, we have developed a job readiness program. We offer many services that aid our clients in improving their job outlook and employability.

Computer Basic Class

We offer a 2-week computer basics class that teaches clients about the Windows operating system and how to create and use email in job searches.

Resume Writing and Interview Skills

Set an appointment today to work on your resume and interviewing skills so you can land the job of your dreams. We offer one-on-one appointments as well as periodic workshops. Call to set up an appointment and check the events calendar for the next available workshop!
